week 2

This week was extra special in class. I only have 1 picture of 1 profe from 20 years ago and she is retired now and only teaches online, but they got her to come and teach my group this week in person! Her name is Judith and I'm pretty sure I had a picture of only her from 20 years ago because she was my favorite. 

We worked on present subjunctive all week and we learned so much. We also learned some new vocabulary words and really practiced with practical conversation skills. It was very useful. 

This week we actually remembered to get a group picture. This group was extra special because we are all teachers. Rae teaches Spanish in the Bahamas and Natalie teaches SpEd at a bilingual school in Wisconsin. We had a great week together. 


Judith with my friend Shelda almost exactly 20 years ago. Shelda and I met in Costa Rica and are still friends!

Also had a student come from Philly area that is a Spanish teacher and her, Natalie and I are doing a tour together tomorrow. 

Next week I'm adding some private class time in the afternoon 4 days for some extra practice. Looking forward to more learning.

Today after class a few of us took a tour of an animal rescue center. Our guide from Argentina was great and I learned tons about the different animals. We talked a lot about endangered species, invasive species, and native species of animals. week 3

Finished my third week of class. I think this week's group of students was the most evenly leveled. Obviously it is extremely difficult to always have 3-4 students at exactly the same level, but this week we really were. We were also all teachers! Our new student was a French teacher. And the bilingual sped teacher from last week is still here and will be here with me next week too. It's been so nice to have one constant companion. We're going shopping together on Monday! This week we worked on present and imperfect subjunctive and next week we finish subjunctive! Feeling like I have a better grasp on it now, but definitely still need practice. It is so hard to fully grasp something that doesn't exist in English. Each week you get a different teacher, but next week we get my teacher from the first week again so that will be great.
