wildlife rescue center
Today after class a few of us took a tour of an animal rescue center. Our guide from Argentina was great and I learned tons about the different animals. We talked a lot about endangered species, invasive species, and native species of animals. This rescue provides the animals that cannot be safely released back into the wild for various reasons a safe place that is as close to their natural habitat as possible.
1. The entrance
2. This is not a native species. This one is actually from Brazil.
3. Lapa roja (native to Costa Rica)
4. Iguana Verde (native)
5. Lapa verde (native)
6. This bird was created by humans and is a cross between photo 2 and 5 if I'm remembering correctly.
7. The type of monkey you'll recognize like was used in Friends as Ross' pet.
9. Stingless bees that make a honey that is used medicinally.
